Privacy policy

Last updated

This policy explains what personal data Pilgrimora collects, why, and the choices you have. It is written with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind.

What we collect

  • Alert sign-ups: name, email and optional phone/WhatsApp number, the alert you chose, and whether you agreed to receive offers.
  • Trip requests: the details you enter on the trip request form, such as name, phone, travel dates, group size and preferences.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and referring site, collected through cookies and similar technologies if analytics is enabled.
  • Booking-link clicks: when you click a hotel or travel link, we record the time, partner and destination (not your identity) to measure what is useful.

How we use it

  • To send the alerts you asked for.
  • To send offers only if you ticked the box to receive them.
  • To pass a trip request to one or two tour operators, only when you give consent on that form.
  • To understand which pages help pilgrims and to improve the site.

Advertising and cookies

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Booking partners we link to (for example hotel booking sites) may set their own cookies when you visit them. Their privacy policies apply on their sites.

Analytics

If enabled, we use Google Analytics to measure traffic. It uses cookies and collects usage data as described by Google.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help run the site (hosting, email), with tour operators when you consent on a trip request, or when required by law.

Retention and security

We keep alert sign-ups until you unsubscribe and trip requests for up to 12 months. Data is stored on access-restricted servers.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, by emailing hello@pilgrimora.com. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe.

Children

Pilgrimora is intended for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change and show the new date at the top.
